A protected herb garden hugged by the modern Cycladic villa is in the very center of this home. The owners wanted to create a space that is true to the serene nature surrounding the house and supports aromatic herbs for their kitchen, as well as delightful scents on hot summer days. In the middle of the space a great “kalamon” olive tree stands guard, her name is “Olive” and she is most praised for her shade and fruits that get picked every year. For her company we choose lavender and santolina, sages and mint, filled in with lemon scented geraniums and thyme to give variety. In the summertime white gauras swing in the gentle breeze. The rocks scattered around are sourced locally and mirror the surrounding countryside. Pathway from local white Parian marble frames perfectly the small oasis. Automadic drip watering system provides economical and invisible water supply to the plants.
