While this list won’t give you straight yes or no answer, it might provides insights about the local characteristics of the island that will make your decision easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s see what are the options of cooling down when temperatures rise!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Option number one has to the the sea, and I tell you the benefits<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2795Positives of the sea:<\/p>\n\n\n\n No tide movements, no dangerous waves (generally speaking, not in stormy weather of course!) and the possibility of getting attacked by wild life is very low<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Greece there are no private beaches<\/strong>, so please don’t fall for false advertisement, your villa won’t have a private beach, as houses have to be a minimum of 30 m from the shore and the shoreline is freely accessible by the public. By law up to 60% of the beach can be taken up by a company providing services while 40% of the beach is free to access by everybody. In Paros about half of the beaches offer <\/strong>some kind of services<\/strong> and the other half are completely wild<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The seawater boosts your immune system, makes your respiratory system work better, heals your wounds, reduces stress and the list goes on and on! Having said that we also have to warn you that sun exposure, while it is most beneficial for mental health and D- vitamin production is very damaging to skin so use high quality sunscreen and don’t forget to re-apply it multiple times a day! The Parian sun is stronger then you think and the breeze that constantly blows creates a false sense of coolness!<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are many choices to rent homes that are walking distance to the sea or right on the seashore! Have a look at this selection of villas: “Right on the seaside”<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n This has got to do with the high maintenance and water costs of pools on Paros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Paros has got huge problems with sweet water supply and the rainfall lately does not cover the needs of the islands inhabitants and visitors. In the high season months there are two desalination plants that produce water to supply private homes, businesses and hotels. Some pools use seawater, but the majority of them are still sweet water pools and with a daily evaporation rate of half a cubic meter of water for the average pool – not even counting the backwash – they put an extra strain on the already tender water balance of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2796 The negatives of the seaside<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unless you visit Paros in the low season, there will be children, teenagers and there might be dogs and cats on the beach, it is accessible by everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unless you find a shady spot you either have to struggle to set up your beach umbrella or pay to rent sun beds and umbrella. Depending on the popularity of the beach and the season you are visiting this can set you back from 25 to 150 Euro. Same goes for food and refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And while this is a positive for most, people who don’t like sand tend to hate it! There are a few options of beaches with small pebbles, ask you host to point you to the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The other option is renting a house with a pool. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2795 Positives of having a villa with swimming pool<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2796 Negatives of renting a villa with pool<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
