Stamata House has been newly renovated to a very high standard. It’s a holiday home where the local materials, the parian stone, the marble, the wood and handmade home accents create a warm natural feel, a perfect enviromnemt to rewind and relax. This traditional stone built Parian home benefits from a secluded location close to Alyki village on the south of the island and offers wonderful unobscured sea views over private gardens towards the “Galazia nera” (azzure waters), Folegandros island and the Small Cyclades island group.
Arriving to the house there is parking for up to three cars on the grounds of the property in the garden under the shade of the trees. The main entrance is on the ground floor, a couple of steps from the parking.
The house is on two levels and have got four bedrooms, all of them with en-suit bathrooms, a living room and kitchen in the same space. The terrace is a natural extension of the living space and probably the most frequented place in the summertime offering outside dining space, a lounge, and several places to sit, observe and enjoy the surrounding countryside and the ever changing sea views. It is shaded by a wooden pergola that have got grapewines spilling over, the epitome of the authentic Parian summer retreat.
The fourth bedroom is the childrens’ or teenagers’ domain, with bright yellow bunk beds for four and en -suit bathroom, situated in the elevated basement. In the lower level there are proper windows and plenty of natural light.
The pool area is located on the South-East side of the villa, protected by stone walls around offering a wonderful place to cool down and splash around. There are no immediate neigbours, the villa is located at the edge of Alyki village, the buzzling center of the village with taverns, shops and coffee bars only 1.3 km away, a comfortable 18 minutes walk on a less frequented country road through fields and in continuation through the village. There are two beaches in Alyki – that are also in walking distance from the villa – Piso Alyki beach is exactly 2 km away (20 minutes walk), at the end of the beach promenade of Alyki on the south or Agios Nikolaos beach 1.7 km away, shallow and warm waters with public tennis court, basketball and football court, and a playground for younger kids.
Interaction with guests
Anna will see you at your arrival, hand you the house keys, explain how everything works in the house (hot water, cooker, wifi etc.) and then tell you about the island and answer all your questions.
On your departure, she will see you again to check the house, get keys, and see you off. You can always contacther by telephone or email as she lives on the island permanently and very happy to make your holiday special!

Other things to note
Attention: this villa is NOT air conditioned, as the owners prefer it this way. The 50 cm thich stone walls, the orientation of the windows and the ceiling fans provide a comfortable naturally cool temperature inside the house.
The house is accessible by wheelchair users except for the children’s bedroom in the elevated basment floor.
Pool/beach towels provided. Pets are not accepted. If you are a smoker please smoke outside, the weather allows it! This is a non-smoking house.
